The
National Epilepsy Center has been designated by the Japanese Ministry
of Health and Welfare as a referral center: the majority of patients who
visit us have received letters of referral.
In order to accommodate patients who come from far away, patients' initial
consultations are scheduled to last only one day. Over the course of the
day, new patients receive blood testing, CT/MRI scans and EEGs, and are
seen by the senior physicians. Appointments must be scheduled for these
initial consultations.
Once patients have gone through initial consultation process, they are
assigned to personal physicians. These physicians are in charge of their
management and follow up.
